Safety & privacy

Safety and privacy, designed for how you actually date

Disabled daters carry the cost of bad design - ableist messages, devotee inboxes, leaked health data. This page lays out, in plain language, what we do to make Fast Dating Chat safer than the apps you've left behind. No fear-mongering. Just the policies.

Last reviewed: April 2026.

What we protect, by default

  • Verified profiles Optional selfie-video check, no driver's license uploads ever.
  • No devotees Fetishizers banned by policy and removed on first report.
  • Moderated daily Human reviewers respond to reports within 24 hours.
  • Your data stays yours Health-related signals treated as consumer health data.
Verification

Verified profiles without invasive uploads

Verification on Fast Dating Chat is a short selfie-video check - you film yourself making a small gesture on screen, and our team confirms the video matches your profile photos. That's it. You can choose, in your filters, to only see and message verified members, which most of our users do after a few weeks on any dating platform.

We deliberately reject driver's license, passport, and other government ID uploads. Storing that data is a privacy risk we won't take on for you, and as our founders put it bluntly when this question comes up: "Ted Bundy had a driver's license." A document does not make a person safe. A real face on video, paired with active moderation, does more - without leaving a copy of your identity in a database.

Anti-fetishization

Our devotee ban, in writing

Devotees - people who pursue disabled partners specifically to fetishize disability - are one of the most common reasons disabled daters quit mainstream apps. We don't tolerate them. There is no "warning" tier, no "shadowban then retry." Accounts behaving as devotees are removed, and the team believes reports regardless of the reporter's gender or disability.

Light vetting at signup helps catch obvious patterns before profiles ever go live. The rest is community-powered: when our members report something, we act on it. We'd rather over-remove a borderline account than leave one devotee in your inbox.

Tools you control

How to report or block someone, step by step

Every profile and every chat thread has a Report and a Block control. Both are large, labeled, and reachable by keyboard. You don't need to message us to use them - they work instantly.

  1. Open the three-dot menu on the profile or message

On any profile card or chat thread, the menu icon in the top right opens reporting controls. The same menu is available from a profile preview, so you do not have to engage further to act.

  2. Pick a reason and add optional context

Choose from harassment or bullying, devotee or fetishizing behavior, scam or money request, impersonation, mature content, misinformation, or other. A short text field is optional - screenshots help, but are never required.

  3. Block instantly, even before reporting

Blocking removes the person from any shared spaces, prevents them from messaging you, hides their profile from your view, and notifies our moderation team so we can review the account independently of your report.

Data we hold, and don't

How we treat your data, including health-related signals

The disability-related details you share - communication-style badges, an optional disclosure, comfort-level notes - fall under what privacy law calls consumer health data. We treat them that way. They are stored encrypted, never sold, never shared with advertisers, and never passed to data brokers. They are visible only to members you choose to show them to.

You can download a copy of everything we hold about you, and you can delete your account permanently from inside settings. Deletion removes profile content, messages, and verification footage from our active systems within 30 days. Read more about contact channels for data requests on our contact page.

Accessibility is safety

Screen reader and keyboard safety

Inaccessible UI is a safety issue. If a Block button is not labeled for a screen reader, blind users can't use it. If a Report dialog traps keyboard focus, motor-impaired users can't escape it. Every safety control on Fast Dating Chat is reachable with Tab, has a visible focus outline, and is announced clearly by NVDA, VoiceOver, JAWS, and TalkBack. The dark theme, reduced-motion support, and large 48-pixel tap targets are part of the same commitment - your safety tools should never be the smallest, hardest-to-find thing on the screen.

Off-platform safety

Meeting in person: practical online dating safety tips

The most thoughtful platform in the world cannot replace the basics of meeting a stranger. These tips apply whether you've been chatting for three days or three months.

If something happens before, during, or after a date that you want flagged, you can contact our trust & safety team directly. We don't need a police report to act on internal moderation, and we keep the conversation confidential.

Quick answers

Quick safety questions

How fast does moderation actually respond?

Reports are reviewed by a human within 24 hours, and most are resolved the same day. Devotee, scam, and harassment reports are prioritized over lower-severity content reports. You will receive a confirmation when a decision is made on your report.

Will the person I report know it was me?

No. Reports are confidential. Blocks are also invisible to the other person - they will not see a "you have been blocked" message. The reported account simply loses the ability to interact with you.

Do you require ID verification to use the site?

No. ID verification is not required and we do not accept driver's license or passport uploads. Verification is an optional selfie-video check that confirms a real face matches your photos. You can use the platform fully without it, and you can filter to only see verified members at any time.

What happens to my data if I delete my account?

Profile content, messages, and any verification footage are removed from active systems within 30 days. A small set of records may be retained briefly for fraud prevention and legal compliance, then deleted. Nothing is sold or transferred to advertisers, before or after deletion.

Is the platform safe for LGBTQIA+ and trans members?

Yes. Misgendering, deadnaming, and anti-LGBTQIA+ harassment are reportable under the same policy as ableism. The team has explicitly trans-affirming moderation guidelines and treats outing or threats of outing as severe violations.
